Six Sources of Power:
- 1. Coercive Power - Power based on fear.
- 2. Reward Power - Power through the distribution of rewards.
- 3. Legitimate Power - Power a person receives as a result of position in the formal hierarchy of an organization.
- 4. Expert Power - Power to influence based on special skills or knowledge.
- 5. Referent Power - Power based on possession of desirable resources or personal traits.
- 6. Resource Power - Power based on resources that can be shared or withheld. (Radar O’ Reilly)
