Heartland 50 Mile Endurance Run
During the last 15 miles of the race I was convinced I'd never do another ultra. I had already mentally prepared what I was going to tell my friends and family, what I would tell the people I chat with in the Yahoo! newsgroup and all of the bloggers that I read/who read my blog. I explained to myself why this was nuts and why shorter road races were the thing for me.
But after about 10 minutes in that lawn chair in the middle of the road, I knew I would do this again. Although it was painful and frustrating at times, it was still an incredible experience. I don't think I did anything "wrong" during the race, but I know what I can do better, both in terms of training and in terms of racing. I'm putting together my plan and already strategizing for the next race!
