Entry 1

Finally! A website of my own. Now Gabriel can stop making snide comments at my expense. I've just heard from Mr. Tan Cheen Ming that my school will be using Tae-Bo: Advanced (rather than the somewhat embarrassing Great Singapore Workout) for All Children Exercise Simultaneously Day workout. Well, Ms. Bala may consider this an improvement seeing how much kickboxing Buffy does.

Have fully retired from Extra-Curricular activities responsibilities- now put out to pasture. Aside, that would explain why I had the time to put this up.

Anyway, I've decided a webpage would be good

a) therapeutically (I wouldn't have to rant to the people around me so much)
b) psychologically (as a break from mugging for A-levels this year)
c) egotistically (did you notice the 2 self-indulgent sections?)
d) scholastically (Yes! I have webpage! I am IT-proficient!)

Sintercom is going down, after a fruitful 7 years. I respect and admire Dr. Tan for his perseverance and courage in fighting for the place of civil society in Singapore- his stepping down will be seen as a moral victory to some, if not to all. First encountered it when it was quoted in the SG directory- and subsequently it hosted the now-defunct CAP homepage. The Makansutra was pretty outstanding, and the fiery columns remind me of the spirit of independent freelance journalists, whose works one seldoms sees in publications by Singapore Press Holdings.

Speaking of which, it recently occurred to me that my school should have an Alternative Prospectus, in addition to the one already published and scrutinised by the school administration (comprising people like our friendly principal Mr. Winston Hodge and popular GP tutor Ms. Audrey Chen). It's nice n' all, with Thereis and Khalil representing the Multiethnic aspect of the student population (also note photograph of Punch! on the page titled "Aesthetics").

It would be nice for students to actually say what they like and don't like about their school... perhaps I should incite some J1s to start something online (any of you reading this?)- vox populi et al ... rather than Hallmark quotations that are repeated in every school prospectus.
