The Lion in the Cave

Once upon a time, there was a lion in a cave. The lion enjoyed
scraping the side of the cave with its jutting out teeth. The sound
of the scrape was very harsh, and the bats that cohabitated with the
lion were getting quite irked at the habit. One morning, as they were
hanging upside down from the cave, the lion began its morning scraping
ritual. The bats were disturbed from their slumber, but were too
afraid to say anything to the lion. Then they heard a painful
whimper. They were very astonished to hear such a sign of weakness
from the lion, and when they looked down, they saw that the lion's
teeth were lodged into the rocky structure of the cave. The lion was
on its side with its face contorted in the other direction in a very
catatonic position. (no pun intended) The more it tried to move, the
more its teeth struggled between the wall of the cave and the lion's
gums. The lions shoulder began to fall asleep and the lion began to
collapse. All of a sudden, its teeth were uprooted as the lion crashed
onto a stalagmite. The bats looked, astounded, as the lion howled and
moaned, looking wistfully at its teeth stuck on the side of the cave
with chunks and tendrils of lion gum still attached. The bats were
finally able to sleep, but the smell of the rotting teeth and gums was
becoming unbearable. Eventually, the lion took care of that too. It
was too painful for it to look at its beautiful set of teeth, so it
clawed them off the side of the wall and swallowed them all.
