Lets Build a Water Garden |
Getting the hole in the ground |
Day One |
I decided on a horseshoe shape. With a shallow area above for a bog area to naturalize the pond. |
I had marked the spot with lime so that Mr Dancy knew exactly where I wanted my hole. |

Day Two |
Then I dug an edge around the pond. A place to ancher the liner with rocks. And work on leveling the site. |
The hole was dug to allow for shelves 8"to 12" down, around the sides for marginal plants, and emergency pet or child escape. I even formed some steps. |

Day Three |
I was able to use a 2x4 and a level. Working around the entire pond, re- moving soil to get the site level. You do not want the liner showing above the waterlevel. This lip represents your water level in your finished pond. |
