Numero duo:

Manfred Mann

Which of them is Klaus?

They were unique in the Southern R&B boom of '62. And remained so until much much later.
First called the Mann-Hugg Blues Brothers. The final name came from the founder's pseudonym (real name Manfred Lubowitz, jazz pianist). Formed with Mike Hugg, drummer and (!) vibraphone player.
Of course the line-up was complete after adding Paul Jones (this Jones is not a real one, strange as it may seem!) -from Blues Incorporated, Mike Vickers and Tom McGuiness (who replaced Dave Richmond...).

Of course in 1965 Vickers left, and Paul Jones not long afterwards. 1966 brought them Jack Bruce from John Mayall's Bluesbreakers and Klaus Voorman.

They did Dylan's lyrics and man, just how!
'If You Gotta Go, Go Now' actually made me take a look at their stuff more closely.
Same with old blues originals, see 'Smokestack Lightning',
'Hoochie Coochie Man',
'Groovin',
'I've Got My Mojo Working',
'Down The Road Apiece' (The Five Faces Of Manfred Mann),
'Call It Stormy Monday' (Mann Made)
(compiled on 'Groovin With The Manfreds', 1994).

And the fact Klaus joined them. It showed just how the Beatles visits had changed Hamburg.

I guess the Manfred Mann Earth Band, most active in the 70s, also needs crediting round here. Only more of the kind, please gentlemen!
