| The following abstracts describe several of these oral presentations. Project Centro Hispanico: Union County College, with over 26% Hispanic students, has established Project Centro Hispanico. This program facilitates the transition to college and empowers first year Hispanic students to fulfill their academic and career goals. Presentation will feature videotaped interviews of program participants in addition to information from key personnel. On-line Student Support: The Academic Learning Centers, together with the Center for Student Success, has introduced interactive web based activities targeting the needs of its students. These activities, developed utilizing free software, will be demonstrated in this session. This workshop will provide participants with models for use in their home institutions. Student Leadership through Peer Education: The Center for Student Success is conducting a peer education initiative on the dangers of HIV/AIDS. Through theater, student educators present information on the cultural and social factors that increase the danger of infection. The program has fostered student leadership and service. Presentation will focus on the implementation and growth of the program. |
