Lentil Rice Casserole

3 c. chicken broth 
3/4 c. uncooked lentils 
1/2 c. uncooked brown rice 
3/4 c. chopped fresh onion 
1/2 tsp. basil
1/4 tsp. oregano
1/4 tsp. thyme
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
3/4 c. grated Cheddar cheese


Combine all ingredients except the cheese. Bake, covered, at 300° for 2 to 2 1/2 hours,
until tender and the water is absorbed, topping with cheese during the last 20 min. Serves 4 to 6.
