MATCH REPORT
US  6 - 8  Them (Also Us) !!
In a sensational match on Wednesday morning (10th October), which I would recommend to anyone as a great hangover cure, They ran out winners in the end after a hard struggle to finally break down our resistance in the final few minutes. It was neck and neck for most of the match with either team only ever having a one goal lead until it reached 5 - 5, when 3 goals from them without reply sealed our fate and even a late consolation from R. Hourihane proved academic. The 2 main turning points in the match both involved Stephen Everard. Firstly, when he cruelly hacked down M. Gormally, when he was clear through on goal and was lucky not to have walked for it, but he stayed on and then later when he took the full force of an R. Desmond drive in the groin area, which put him out of the game for several minutes, but he returned in true Laurent Blanc fashion to shore up his dodgy defence and lay the foundation for the victory which in the end was quite comfortable.

The Teams were:

US: Robert Desmond, Ronan Hourihane, Martin Gormally, Sean O'Donnell, Simon Everard.

THEM: Darragh Oliver, Brian Oliver, Brian Jordan, Stephen Everard, Daire Mullan.

Man Of The Match: For his inept goalkeeping display and grabbing a hat trick as well as his rangey unorthodox style, it goes to Ronan Hourihane.

The Pirate's Award for Most Serious Bout of Straight Leg Syndrome: The award goes to Sean O'Donnell.

The F*ck off home, You're Crap award: This goes to Simon Everard.

Best Goal: Robert Desmond.
