MATCH REPORT
US 14 - 16 Them
Unfortunately, due to injuries, lectures and people having the hump, only 6 turned out last Wednesday morning at 10 a.m, so playing 3 on 3 made sure everyone was twice as knackered as usual. Once again, the team against us won, although it was a struggle, having been behind for most of the game, they came through strongly in the end, inspired by 9 goal Robert Desmond running the show for them. We ran into a 3-0 lead early on, Simon Everard warned against complancency at that stage. We had the upper hand for the first half, crisp passing and movement was unlocking their defence at will and we led at half time. However in the second half because of Darragh "Kevin Kilbane" Oliver's predictability and Simon "Andy Cole" Everard's inability to put the ball into the net, we began to falter. Also following his 4 goals in the first half, Martin Gormally produced a couple of "Barthez" specials as well, which didn't help the cause. On the other side, Ronan Hourihane's ranginess appears to be les of a problem these days, as he did quite well. Mule turned in his usual "Lee Carsley" style performance, effective, but it was the Robert "Johnson" Desmond, the boy from Cork, who won it for them with a suberb display. They were helped by the Arena DJ? because when that song "There she was just a walking down the street, singin' u a day dee di di dum di di doo" started, we were 3 goals up, when it finished, we were a goal behind, shocking!!
