Team A 14 - 6 Team B

Maybe the open draw is a bad idea, anyway, Team A went about their business on this fresh December morning with the minimum of fuss and led 8-0 at half time, which included a superb effort from nearly halfway from Robert Desmond, a couple of neat finishes from Martin Gormally and Phil Bourke, some tidy play from Daire Mullan and not a lot from Simon Everard who was showing the effects of 3 days on the beer. Team B tried hard to score in the first half, but were unlcuky a few times. John Fallon was unlucky, only being prevented by a superb goal line clearance, although the best chance of the half fell to Ronan Hourihane and Sean O'Donnell together, unmarked in front of goal, and they got in each others way and contrived to miss it, which caused the then goalkeeper Gormally to collapse to his knees in laughter!! Team B came back in the second half with 4 goals from Ronan Hourihane and 2 from John Fallon, making the scoreline a good bit more respectable, but saw one of their men go off injured, Podge  having got a whack in the groin area for the second week in a row, must be considering his future and indeed his safety at this level!! Team A: Robert Desmond, Martin Gormally, Daire Mullan, Philip Bourke, Simon Everard. Team B: Ronan Hourihane, David Lillis, Sean O'Donnell, Padraig Spillane, John Fallon. Best Goal: Robert Desmond. Best Achievement in the game: Martin Gormally, for almost lobbing Podge, of all people, when he was in goal, it hit the bar! Best (Worst!) Foul: Phil Bourke on Ronan Hourihane. Man Of The Match: Simon Everard, even though he didn't do much, if you saw the state of him the night before, you'd wonder how he was still alive never mind playing soccer at 10 in the morning, he did well, the boy Lazarus!!
