Match Report

Team A 20 - 17 Team B

In an enjoyable game, Team A came out on top by a couple of goals. This was the first game for a good few weeks because the majority of players have their FYP's handed in now, so they can arse around for a while. Donie C had to pay a E5 deposit for the ball, because people were robbing the the balls, we're not naming names, but we've an idea who they might be!!!! Anyway, the game got underway and it was very tight for most of the first half, there was never more than 1 goal in it for most of it. For Team A, Simon Everard, playing for the first time since before Christmas was very effective. This was probably more due to the fact that he was wearing a Galway jersey than any natural skill that he possesses. Rob was doing quite well too, but Gormally was having a patchy enough game, which was a bit of a surprise. For Team B, Ronan Hourihane was creating chances but wasn't getting too many on target, to his frustration, Ollie was also doing quite well. Fallon was staying away from the corners this week as well, while Mule and Shane Mulrooney were also effective. With the scores level at 5 -5, Team A finally clicked into gear, and quickly fired 8 goals, with only 1 in reply from Team B. The score was 13 - 6 at half time. Team B had been alternating Donie C, Dave and Gormally in goal for the first half, Simon Everard volunteered at the start of the second half, it emerged later that he had forgotten his contact lenses, which would explain his ineptitude between the posts. He was blaming Team B's good finishing but the fact that he was blind didn't help him. After conceding 3 goals in little over a minute, he was displaced in goals by Gormally, who was better but not on top of his form. Team B got the score back to 13 - 12, and as has happened so often before, Gormally left the goal and the course of the game changed, well it did!! He fired in a few quick goals and Team A had the upper hand again. Team B, to their credit never gave up and continued to score, however it proved to be in vain as an enjoyable game finished with Team A, the winners.
