UNITED SIDE SHOWS 7 CHANGES FROM TEAM THAT PLAYED BAYERN IN '99 FINAL
BACK ROW (L-R)

1. Martin J. Gormally
, preferred to Barthez in goal due to superior handling ability and distribution in and around the box, has recovered from sprained arse. previously with Kilconnell Celtic.

19. Darragh Oliver, boyhood Liverpool fan, selected to replace Dwight Yorke. Signed only last week from Ballinasloe Town on a free. Mazy running and superb back passing ability are his deadliest attributes.

9. Sean O'Donnell, boyhood Fianna Fail fan (?), preferred up front to Andy Cole because of his ability to motivate his team mates and because he has more hair. Previously with Newells Old Boys in Argentina, asked to leave there due to bad table manners.

5. Ronan Hourihane, a defender very much in the Ramon Vega mould. Replaces Wes Brown after an incident with some fake tan lotion. Very versatile defender, not the most elegant footballer you're likely to see, but gets the job done. Signed 2 months ago from Real Moneygall C.F. Holds record for most times the ball has hit a player in the arse in a game.

6. Jaap Stam, excellent defender, will be interesting to see if he performs well alongside the unorthodox Hourihane. Signed from PSV Eindhoven in 1998.

11. Ryan Giggs, Welsh wing wizard, will always be remembered for the time he got his hair cut and acted like Samson (without hair) for an entire season. What about that goal against Arsenal on 14th April 1999 !

FRONT ROW (L-R)

15. Mulinho, Elusive Brazilian right back, plucked from the slums of Sao Paulo 2 years ago by United. Performs consistently, very disciplined defender. Very rarely booked. Doesn't score often, although bagged a rare hat trick in 99-2000 against Caherdavin. Very unlucky not to get 4th, when superb effort was ruled out for offside.

8. Nicky Butt, first name on the team sheet. Very consistent, although tends to drift in and out of games sometimes. Started against Liverpool, was seen after an hour, however whereabouts before and after that are unknown.

7. David Beckham, clean cut pretty boy, very much in the Simon Everard mould. Dead ball specialist. Half volleys could do with a bit of work.

2. Simon Everard, selected ahead of Gary Neville at right back. Recent brush with the law won't help him. He was discovered to have broken North Tipperary's strict guidlines on fry-ups when he had a fry-up without a fried tomato. He will hope to reclaim some credit after the disgrace the incident has brought upon him. Signed from Moyne Rovers for 10 pints and a bag of footballs.

16. Robert Desmond, preferred to Roy Keane in the centre because of his ability to get the back line moving and his penalty taking. Known to try very hard, in fact he prefers a good try to a goal sometimes. On loan from UL Bohemians RFC.
