Ghosts of the past

We all have done things that are better forgot about,
Things that have happened in times of doubt.
Maybe it started off as a little bit of fun,
Now it must not be known by anyone.

When you were a child you took those sweets,
Because you were looking for a few treats.
Or maybe on your loved one you did crook,
But your loved one reads you like a book.

Even with the tax man you took a chance,
A bit more dramatic than that of romance.
The school exam in which you did cheat,
About the friend you wish not to meet.

No matter what you do these things will remain,
Come back and haunt you time and again.
When you do them, you think will they last,
They are there forever the ghosts of your past.
