Growing up

I feel that no-one ever told the truth to me,
About growing up and what a struggle it would be.
It all starts with learning what will make you sore,
Like touching a hot pan or shutting your finger in a door.

Then at school it starts again those who want to tease,
And it happens more even when you say please.
Not all people are the same there are some who care,
But the other ones they just get in your hair.

What makes growing up so hard who wrote the book,
For if I could find it I would like to take a look.
It seems the only choice is to learn the hard way,
And this I keep learning every single day.

It would appear growing up never has an end,
When sometimes you choose even the wrong friends.
Nothing is sacred it even happens in love,
Maybe it would be better if I was as free as a dove.

The problem with growing up is there are no rules,
That is why some people end up looking like fools.
So remember all the lessons that you learn through the years,
They could end up saving you an awful lot of tears.
