If only I could fly,
So high up in the sky.
What would I be able to see,
Down on the world below me.
I'd see all the people running around,
Searching and finding the lost and found.
Things that they thought they'd lost forever,
Thoughts of the past or maybe an old lover.
I'd see people dreaming their lives away,
Waiting for tomorrow and a better day.
No longer happy with their present life,
Wanting a new husband or another wife.
I'd see all the poverty and the hunger,
Bringing on feelings of pity and anger.
Condemned by all to live a life of sin,
Only supported by their friends and kin.
I'd see all the children ready to play,
In whose hands our futures do lay.
So young and innocent but not for long,
The deceit of others soon comes along.
But of all the things I'd like to see,
The one that would mean the most to me.
Is to see the world full of love,
As I fly around high up above.
