Natures lessons

High above the Fish Eagle flies,
Up in the clear blue skies.
Circling around its prey to find,
No other worries on its mind.

In the water below the fish do swim,
The shoal turns as one on a whim.
The Eagle above they do not see,
It's all part of natures mystery.

The Carp spots a fly as it swims around,
It moves in slowly a meal has been found.
As it draws in nearer for the final kill,
It sees not the Eagle moving closer still.

As the Carp surfaces the fly to grasp,
It knows not this could be its last.
The Eagle swoops with its talons extended,
In a flash the Carps life has ended.

And so continues the struggle for survival,
Nature had coped well until Mans arrival.
Animals only kill to defend or feed,
Man just kills to sustain his greed.

What lessons from nature can we learn,
If peaceful existence is our concern.
Live and let live treat all as a friend,
A good way to start towards a better end.
