I've spent much of my time seeking and searching,
To find someone special who will give my life meaning.
I had nearly given up when into my life you came,
At first just another girl just another name.
We started as only friends all so matter of fact,
We talked together for ages about this and that.
For hours and hours we sat and spoke,
Then along came love we ignored the other folk.
We spoke of our families of our love and our fate,
Oh! how well I remember when I asked for that date.
We danced through the night that was the time of my life,
We dated many a week then I asked you "be my wife."
At first all was fine how could it be a mistake,
We loved, we shared life was all give and take.
Then along came the kids and with them the strain,
Something was telling me sending signals to my brain.
The next thing I see is a letter from your lawyer,
This I never wanted did not want to destroy her.
The next time we spoke we were stood in court,
The pain, the hurt a lesson in love I had been taught.
The papers are through the divorce is final,
I had lived in hope but it was all denial.
The love we had, gone so has life's meaning,
To find love again I must keep searching.
