Second chance

I was married once but again I will try,
For this time I have found the right guy.
Friends we were and friends we will stay,
That is why this is my wedding day.

We were friends for a long time,
And we fell in love is that a crime.
He understands me and the way I feel,
That is all part of his appeal.

I was on my own for a few years,
He helped me through this time of tears.
My marriage was troubled he was there,
This did show me he really does care.

He was there with all the pain and strife,
Now he wants me to be his wife.
My first attempt did not succeed,
What about this time yes indeed.

To stay happy will take hard work for sure,
Through the good and bad which we will endure.
But work it will I will make a stance,
For this will be my second chance.
