The time has come for the plants to grow,
For the day to start with a golden glow.
The animals awaken from the sleep they've had,
Spring has sprung everyone is surely glad.
The grass turns bright green the flowers start to appear,
These things show to us that summer is near.
As new life begins afresh we welcome the new start,
The new beginning in which we all play a part.
Rabbits hopping in the fields birds seen on the wing,
Hawks and sparrows even the nightingale starts to sing.
The lambs with the ewes the foal with the mare,
How can anyone say that they don't care.
Right across the field the farmer sows the wheat,
For the souls of this nation that they might eat.
The crops are planted his living to earn,
For this time of year the farmer does yearn.
Autumn, winter, summer and now spring,
We always seem to get the best of everything.
Wherever you are throughout this great earth,
This season of spring is the time of new birth.
