To my Parents

Here I stand on my wedding day,
And to my parents I wish to say.
A few special words spoken from the heart,
As I begin a new life to start.

I wish to thank you for the time as a baby,
When you cared for me and that's no maybe.
You took care of me without a thought,
You always gave me everything I sought.

When I started school you led me by the hand,
And sent me off to learn about the wonders of this land.
When a boyfriend I did find,
You told me what was on your mind.

That day for work I did depart,
You sent with me a piece of your heart.
Then on the day I said "I'm engaged,"
I saw on your faces you were amazed.

Your little girl I will always be,
But now it is my Hubby and me.
Where ever we live either here or there,
I will always know that you care.

Now as my new life I do start,
I have three words that come from my heart.
My parents you will be no matter what I do,
So please remember these words I love you.
