Why we need friends

Why do we need friends why do we need love,
Who has the answer does it come from above.
Friends we seek and companions we need,
Why do we do all this why indeed.

We are given love from the day we are born,
From late at night to early in the morn.
We are hugged and given many a kiss,
Our lives are lived filled with bliss.

As we grow older our love starts to grow,
When true love comes you will know.
And when you lose love your heart will break,
Then we long for the friends that are hard to make.

Friends who will listen friends that will care,
Friends who you can trust who will always be there.
These are the friends that we need,
The one's whose advice we can heed.

Throughout our lives we always need a friend.
From in the beginning right 'till the end.
When at times for help you must ask,
A real friend will not think it a task.

When you need to talk one who will listen,
When you tell a joke whose eyes will glisten.
When you need to cry who will dry your eye,
Who is that friend you ask could it be I.

We all need friends that is true I know,
Deep in our hearts we need a glow.
In times of need one on which we can depend,
That is why in the end we all need someone to be a friend.
