As I soar above on wings of steel,
Just imagine how I feel.
Seeing whisps of white and grey,
Clouds effortlessly moving on their way.
The contrast as the sky changes from day to night,
The sun is slowly setting what a sight.
In this twilight many things to see,
Not a normal view that is clear to me.
The land below all different colours and hues,
The water is seen as greens and blues.
Mountain ranges don't seem to be real,
But even so they don't lose their appeal.
Cities come and go through the night,
Easily visible illuminated by light.
The veld fire glows across the sky,
How many of the animals will die.
In the morning as the sun again begins to rise,
Before the moon has finished closing its eyes.
The new day dawns on the wolrd below,
What awaits me as the sun rays I follow.
As I float along on wings of steel,
These sights I see can they be real.
How would the world look seen from the moon,
Will I ever know maybe one day soon.
