Plot Outline The Pacific Vortex is a fog-shrouded sea zone where dozens of ships have vanished without a trace. The latest victim is the US nuclear submarine "Starbuck". Pitt's job is to find it and salvage it.

Why are ships vanishing in that dreaded place in Pacific Ocean? Who is the golden-eyed giant who has been asking about the lost island of Kanoli? Who is Summer, who tries to kill Pitt, but then saves him?

Comments Dirk Pitt is in the class of James Bond, Nick Carter and the heroes of Alister Maclean. The difference is that Dirk specializes in deep sea diving, while the others are land-borne! This book has no shortage of car chases, shot exchanges, suspense and intrigue. It's short and hence fast read.
