Synopsis:
Law enforcement agents from the planet Thanagar, Katar and Shayera Hal, track a shape-shifting intergalactic thief named Byth to Earth. They befriend the local police commissioner who sets them up with new identities as museum employees while they search for Byth. They finally catch up with and take him down using ancient Earth weapons borrowed from the museum. Their home planet agrees to let them stay on Earth to study their law enforcement techniques.

"Menace of the Matter Master"
The Matter Master uses his matter control wand to pull off a series of daring robberies which draw the attention of Hawkman and Hawkgirl. Knowing that they're hot on his trail, the Matter Master lures Hawkman and Hawkgirl to his lair hoping to destroy them. Fortunately, Hawkman and Hawkgirl rise to the occasion and defeat the Matter Master.

"Valley of Vanishing Men!"
Hawkman and Hawkgirl make their way to the Himalayas where their co-worker, Mavis Trent, has gone missing. Hawkgirl is captured by a mysterious being the local villagers have named the Abominable Snowman. Fortunately, Hawkman figures it all out and rescues Hawkgirl. It turns out that the Abominable Snowmen were actually a race of aliens who crash landed on Earth and wanted to keep their presence secret until they repaired their space ship.

"Strange Spells of the Sorcerer!"
Hawkman and Hawkgirl have a couple of strange encounters with mythological creatures. Someone is attempting to tap into the power of ancient artifacts recently arrived at the museum. Hawkman and Hawkgirl battle their way through more mythological creatures and defeat an associate of the museum before he was able to harness the full power of the ancient artifacts.

"Shadow-Thief of Midway City"
The local authorities are unable to stop the Shadow Thief's robberies and call upon Hawkman and Hawkgirl for help. They track down the Shadow Thief, but are unable to stop him as his shadow form is impervious to any forms of attack. With the help of some birds, Hawkman and Hawkgirl find the Shadow Thief's lair and force him to revert to his human form and taken into custody.

Synopsis:
Hawkman and Hawkgirl are recalled to their home world Thanagar and report their findings on Earth policing procedures. Thanagarian methods are unable to stop a series of daring thefts. The Thanagar authorities call upon Hawkman and Hawkgirl for help. They discover that their old foe, Byth, has escaped from jail and formed a new gang with which he has carried out the robbery spree. Hawkman and Hawkgirl trick Byth into revealing their hideout and then taking on and defeating them.

The Brave and the Bold # 43: "The Masked Marauders of Earth

Synopsis:
Mysterious giant hawks wearing human masks pull off a bold heist. The police commissioner contacts Hawkman and Hawkgirl on Thanagar and request their help. On the journey back to Earth, Katar tells Shayera about how he and his father defeated these Manhawks when their plagued Thanagar. After failing their first attempt to bring in the Manhawks, Hawkman and Hawkgirl outwit the Manhawks and foil their plans for revenge against Thanagar.

"Earth's Impossible Day!"
Trying to cheer up Hawkgirl who's feeling homesick, Hawkman gets her out of the city. They spend the day pulling off what would seem to be improbable means. They prevent a forest fire, capture a notorious convict, and foil the plans of a thief who got his hands on an invisible spray. Their actions lived up to the Thanagarian traditional holiday, Impossible Day, and cheers up Hawkgirl.

"The Men Who Move the World!"
A group of mysterious men with animal heads steal a variety of artifacts from the museum despite Hawkman's best efforts. The Earth suddenly shifts and moves into an orbit closer to the Sun. Hawkman and Hawkgirl track down these animal head men and learn that they belonged to a long dead race that once controlled the world and that the Earth was once in a closer orbit to the Sun. Fortunately, Hawkman and Hawkgirl foil the plans of these beings and restore the Earth to its proper place.
