I tried to send you the money today, but we've hit a snag. Did you hear about the huge power outage we had here? More than 50 million people lost their electricity. (ahhh, the fine art of weaving reality with fiction) We lost it up here in the Hamptons too, and my dad went absolutely shizznet crazy! Started calling all these people and yelling at them on his cell phone.
Anyway, the DHL office is closed so instead I went to Western Union. They have power at the moment, but they said they couldn't send the money to Nigeria unless I also sent them a copy of the passport of whoever is going to pick up the money transfer. So, if you can get your lawyer buddy to send me a scan, I'll head out there today and get this done for you. (A subtle, and ultimately futile, attempt to get a picture out of these clowns)
