Paul-This is the ultimate place to go for dessert in Baltimore and dare I say the East Coast. Personally, I feel that there canolis are the best thing in there menu coming in 3 different varieties; plain, chocolate shell, and chocolate chip filling in a plain shell (I'm sure they'd put it in the chocolate but I've never asked).
The shells are perfectly crisp and the creamy filling surrounds your tonge and assaults it with delicious sweet flavor. The gelato is also very tasty and given in generous portions, for that matter just about everything is given in large portions here as one would assume for any Italian establishment. If you go and cant pick one thing, I recommend the sampler which comes with mini canoli, an assortment of cookies and exquisite plain and chocolate covered cream puffs. Or for the brave of heart, skip dinner on Monday and try the all you can eat desert special (evening only, call for exact hours).
Be warned the lines can get very long and the service can be a little slow on the weekends because of its well deserved popularity. Vaccaro's it the perfect place to go to put a sweet spin on a evening out with a loved on or just to treat yourself for the heck of it.
