I think what helps me to forgive is. I know I can not as a human fully forgive and forget. I think forgetting is the hardest part.

Mat. 5; and 6: are two excellent chapters for me to go to when I am having problems with others and myself.

I have to remember that if I can not forgive, them my Father will not forgive me. I have to remember also that as hard as I judge ( we all do that ) I am going to be judged by my Father with the same measuring stick.

We are to pray for those who sinned or sinned against us unless it is a sin unto death.

I have sometimes to tell my Master, I can not do it own my own. Will you take if from me, and give me your Spirit towards them? You have bought and paid for it so why am I carrying it around. It is yours, not mine anymore.
