Have you ever met someone who is so tied up in hurts, that their life is
governed by them? It is like past put a hand through the veil of time, and
held them in such a fierce grip that they can not move forward, forget, or
live in the present for the past.
It is not that they are on purpose stand still in their heart and mind
paralyzed by the past. It is like there is a part of them never dies,
never is buried with the passing of time.
When we become children of our Heavenly Father, we are told we can have a
new birth from above. Not born of the see of man, but the seed of our
Father. 1 Peter 1:23
Also we are told that when we learn of how we lived contrary to our
Father, we are to repent and be baptized. It is a burying of the old self,
and being raised up in what is represented as being a new being. The
person we are now, a child of our Heavenly Father, is not the one all
those hurts were done to. That person died and was buried as sure as if we
physically died and was buried.
One may say, "What about after we became His child, and we were wronged to
the core of our being by someone?" It seems like hurts can go so deep,
especially hurts done by someone else we think is a child of our Father.
It seems like the inner man was wounded to the heart of its being, and
one just can not seem to get over it.
The first clue in that is who did it? No person filled with the Spirit of
our Father, is going to practice hurting others. If they do, it is not the
Fathers child that did it to them, no matter what 'Title' they have or
what they call themselves.
Second, we have the Father and His Son as our focal point, the Bible as
our instruction book, the Spirit as our teacher. 1 John 2:27 We will have
correction, instruction, and reproof. They will never be unkind to us, rip
our guts out, put us down, use us then throw us away! Man will.
A babe in the Word, looking to any human teacher, needs to do it
prayerfully. They need to look and see if they are being used of the
Father, showing fruits of being filled with His Spirit, if not then we
asked for getting told wrong, and maybe even mistreated. Most times they
are to young to know to do this, and are so filled with the first love,
that they can be led astray.
Being young in faith one can be so eager to obey and please our Father,
that they do not know when they are being told wrong. They give of
themselves so totally to the Church, that they never stop to ask if the
ones in charge are called of the Father, or put their by man. They just
accept mans word as a innocent little children. They are give verses are
used to prove a point, and seem to prove what it says. When they are
thoroughly, and prayerfully searched out they find it does not agree with
the Word as a whole.
