We were like Little Orphan Annie in a way. Life had kicked us about
pretty much as the lady over the orphanage had Annie. Then one day, it was
not Daddy Warbucks that summoned us, but the very creator of the universe.
We packed up our bags, memories, hurts, and all our earthly possessions,
and arrived at His door. I can just imagine Him looking down at us, and
thinking, "my dear child", I have all new things to give you, those are
but rags, soon you will see it too.
I thought about how He had garments of righteousness, and salvation to
give to me. And it could be compared with the wedding garments of a groom,
or bride in all its beauty.
I will greatly rejoice in the LORD/Yahweh, my soul shall be joyful in my God/Elohim; for
he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with
the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments,
and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels. - Isa 61:10
I thought about the many that had hurts that seemed like they were branded
into our soul. Just as older children are adopted, and have scars of life,
we too have scars. Yet our Heavenly Father has the ability to completely
heal those scars. He can make us into a new being. New heart, new purpose
in life, a joy that is unspeakable, and peace beyond understanding.
We are unlike those children that never feel like they belong, and feel
like a piece is missing. We are loved so completely by our Father, and His
Son, that there is completeness, a belonging that we have never had
before. He was Father because He was our creator. Now He is Father because
He has invited us to be a part of His family.
For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have
received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. - Rom 8:15
And because ye are sons, God/Yahweh hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son
into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. - Gal 4:6
Adoption agencies charge thousands of dollars for the children to be
adopted. The price of our adoption was Our Father loving mankind so much
that He gave His only begotten Son, so that we could have forgiveness of
our sins by His being our sin offering. Sin that cut us off from His
presence. His love paid the price for us to be adopted.
