Gorean citizenship is an important part of life and daily interaction in the Books, and on-line it can also play a very important part. Alliances are typically drawn along City, or Caste lines. To select a City as your Homestone is to immediately ally yourself with like-minded individuals. Often one is asked what City one is from, or where is one's Homestone, with whom does one share a Homestone. Those who do not have a City's Homestone to claim are considered, at best, bumpkins from far outside of civilization, or more commonly, outcast and outlaw, and therefore, the enemies of all Men.
