Ref: The Three Disciplines

The purpose of the Three Disciplines is to give both structure and understanding to the kajire of what level of behavior is expected of the kajira, at all times. Additionally, it gives the Master or Mistress a clear way to convey what is expected from the kajir. Note that where a behavior may not be required it is usually still permitted and often appreciated. At all times, in all disciplines, a kajir is expected to be pleasing to his/her Master/Mistress.


The First Discipline (most formal, strict)

Expected to be the full, complete kajire at all times, in every fashion.

Will always serve and seek to anticipate the needs and desires of his/her Master/Mistress.

Will kneel in the presence of his/her Master/Mistress unless otherwise directed. he/she is expected to be at the feet of his/her Master/Mistress, kneeling, unless doing something else. If given permission to be at ease, he/she does so at the feet of his/her Master/Mistress.

Always requests permission for anything desired, to speak, or to gain the attention of his/her Master/Mistress.

Will address his/her Master/Mistress as Master/Mistress, Lord, Sir, or Madame. Master/Mistress is preferred. Note that in ircGor, Sir, Lady, Ma'am, and Madame are not permitted to kajir.

To gain attention of his/her Master/Mistress only use of the mouth is permitted at points no higher than mid-thigh.

May only enter the bed after given permission from his/her Master/Mistress. When entering, he/she does so kneeling from the bottom left edge of the bed, crawling into the bed upon his/her belly after having kissed the edge of the bed.

If commanded to heel, or follow, he/she does so at 2 paces behind his/her Master/Mistress when indoors and 5 paces behind his/her Master/Mistress when outdoors, always to the left of his/her Master/Mistress.

When eating, he/she will wait until his/her Master/Mistress eats, then he/she may begin. He/she need not wait until his/her Master/Mistress has finished unless otherwise commanded.


The Second Discipline (Moderate)

Kneeling is not required.

he/she may sit at his/her Master/Mistress's side and does not have to request permission to speak.

Serving is required but may be casual, serving both himself/herself and his/her Master/Mistress at the same time.

Will address his/her Master/Mistress as Master/Mistress, Lord, Sir, or Madame. Occasional use of his/her Master/Mistress's name is permitted.

May gain attention in any suitably courteous fashion.

Needs permission to enter the bed and does so from the bottom left edge, but may from enter from a standing position with any method being acceptable.

Heeling is not required, may walk beside his/her Master/Mistress.

he/she is not required to wait for his/her Master/Mistress to begin eating and may eat with his/her Master/Mistress.

Attend his/her Master/Mistress as directed or as desired by his/her Master/Mistress.


The Third Discipline (Light, Casual)

The Third Discipline is usually undetectable by non-Goreans, it is designed for common, daily usage. The kajir is in the Third Discipline at all times, unless otherwise directed, or the kajir takes the initiative to move into a deeper Discipline.

Use of his/her Master/Mistress's name is fully permitted. Serve as courtesy dictates.

May enter the bed in any fashion, permission is not required.
