brak bush (Book5, page 211)
a shrub whose leaves have a purgative effect when chewed; traditionally, branches of it are nailed to house doors during the Waiting Hand to discourage the entry of bad luck into the house for the New Year

carpet plant (Book13, page 347)
a plant of the rainforest area inland of Schendi, having tendrils that are sometimes used as a source of drinking water

dina (Book8, page 51; Book11, page 61; Book11, page 63)
a small, short-stemmed flower indigenous to hillsides; sometimes called the 'slave flower', it is often used as a design for slave brands; sometimes used as a slave name
a mark burned into the flesh of animals and slaves to mark them as property; specific brands include the kef (common kajira brand), Dina, Palm, mark of Treve, mark of Port Kar, mark of the Tahari, mark of Torvaldsland etc.

a hemovorous plant that fastens two hollow, fang-like thorns into its victim, through which it can suck the blood that nourishes it

an evergreen tree of the Thentis region, whose oil is used in perfumes

palm tree (Book13, page 310)
More than 1500 varieties of palm trees exist in the rainforest, one of which is the Fan Palm, more than 20 ft high, and spreads it leaves in the form of a an opened fan, it is an excellent source of pure water, as much as one liter of water being found, almost as though cupped, at the base of each leaf's stem.

rence (Book6, page 7)
a tufted, reed-like plant that grows in the marshes; it has long thick roots about four inches thick which lies under the surface of the water, with smaller roots that sink down to the mud with stems 15-16 feet long, with a single floral spike, used for making paper - each part of the rence is used for something.

a whitish fibrous matter, found in the seed pods of a small reddish woody bush, used to make rep-cloth
rep-cloth -- rough fabric woven from the fibers of the rep plant; analogous to cotton muslin?

('life-daughter') - staple gorean grain, (specifically wheat) described as yellow shafts growing in rows in a field

sim plant (Book3, page 214)
a rambling, tangled vine-like plant with huge, rolling leaves, raised in the pasture chambers of the Nest

A bitter root whose extract is the active ingredient in slave wine

talender (Book4, page 218)
delicate, yellow meadow flower, symbolic of feminine love and beauty; a crown of talenders is often worn by a free woman during the Companionship ceremony; worn in a slavegirl's hair, it is a silent plea for her to be raped

telekint (Book10, page 83)
a plant of the Tahari; its roots, mashed & mixed with water, provides a red dye

a tree which produces a black wood that is very strong; ebony?

a plant whose extract is the active ingredient in breeding wine

Tur Tree (Book4, page 217)
a reddish tree having a large trunk

veminium (Book10, page 50)
desert - small, purplish flower found in the Tahari; used in perfumes
oil - by-product of Veminium petals being boiled in water; a scented oil used in middle to upper-class homes to rinse hands before and after eating
Thentis - a bluish wildflower commonly found on the lower ranges of the Thentis mountains; used in perfumes
