What are we doing in ircGor? - training, learning, growing, substituting
Always remember that ircGor is not real life. We are here for very
specific reasons, however. We are here to train for real life, to
learn about Gor and it's Ways, to share and grow amongst ourselves
in the Ways of Gor, amongst good and like-minded friends. And for
some of us, we are here to substitute, to 'get a Gor-fix' instead of
the real life Gorean Way that we desire.
Yes, some are here for other reasons, to find a Master, or a slave,
or to simply experience Gor vicariously when real life Gorean living
is denied us for whatever reason. Some are here simply for the
possibility of cybersex. If cybersex is a priority for you, there
are numerous non-Gorean cybersex oriented channels which will cater
to your every whim.
Everyone has thier own reasons for coming to ircGor.... But consider
this; being in ircGor effectively, takes a great deal of one's time
and energy. So make it *worth* your time and energy, not to mention
what you're paying for access to the Net.
Living the Gorean Way in Real Life
Can it be done? Can a Master or a kajira be of Gor all the time? The
answer varies quite a bit with individual circumstance, however, it
can indeed be done. Consult KN 06C-3_Disciplines.txt for an example
of how to mesh Gor with reality on Earth, for the kajir.
The bottom line is that it can be done, and *is* being done by many
Goreans; Masters, Mistresses, and kajir. Once you have lived it,
very much of what may be difficult to understand, becomes crystal
clear.
Chains of authority and command
Who is in charge, and when? This seems like a simple question, yet,
too many kajir seem ignorant of this very basic aspect of Gorean
interaction. What follows is the order of authority which exists
over any kajir, based upon where you are and how long you have been
there.
1) Your Master or Mistress, the One who Owns you.
2) If in a channel collar, then the Ops of that channel
3) The first girl or second girl of the channel you are in
4) Any Free Person who commands you
5) Any kajir who is senior to you in the channel you are collared to
The reason for the first one, and the second, is obvious.
The first or second girls of a channel have been placed in that
position by the Ops of that channel. Thier authority comes directly
from those Ops. Failure to obey them is akin to failing to obey the
Ops. While they may not be able to deal with you directly, you can
be sure that they will speak to the Ops and that thier word will be
taken very seriously.
Any Free Person is automatically in authority over any kajir. There
may be some question when it is a first or second girl, versus a
Free Person who is not of channel, however, again, the Free Person
usually understands that the first or second girl is following the
direct orders of the Ops, and takes that into account. The first or
second girl, on the other hand, is still required to behave with
proper decorum and respect to all Free People, Masters and
Mistresses alike. If a Free Person not of the channel gives the
first or second girl of that channel an order which is against the
directives of the Ops, the kajir is not likely to obey. Most likely,
at best, the kajir will leave and go get one of her Ops to come and
deal with the situation. Of course, it would be very well for the
first or second girl to be in the right, and have acted properly and
courteously in all things, and with absolute honesty. Logs are
always a good idea in the event of any dispute.
Curiosity is not becomming in a kajira
This is a common Gorean saying, but one which is often just as
commonly misunderstood. It does NOT mean that the Gorean Master
disapproves of curiosity in a kajira. This phrase refers only to the
times when the kajira is sticking her nose into the Master's private
business, at a place and time where it is inappropriate. Thus, it
is a very relative thing, depending on many factors. In general,
most of the time the Master approves very much that the kajira is
curious about things which are her business, curious about her own
self-improvement and development, her training and the ways and means
she formulates to please him. Curiosity is closely linked to
intelligence, and intelligence is highly prized in a kajira. No one
wants a stupid slave.
How to address one's own Master, versus other Masters
When speaking to one's own Master, or to say it another way, when
speaking to the Master who Owns the kajira, the kajira will address
the Owner differently, and more intimately. Sometimes a kajira who
is owned by another Master will address the Master whom she desires
to have own her, by these forms, as a way to let him know that she
wishes to be owned by him. This is, however, while a good way for the
kajira to make her desires know, also considered in bad taste, and
will almost certainly get the kajira in trouble if her actual Owner
hears of it.
Book25, page 425
The kajir is not permitted to use the Owning Master's name when
speaking to the Master. This is a fundimental matter of courtesy
and respect, proper protocol when being of Gor and communicating
with the Master. It is considered a highly punishable offense if the
kajir lapses in this particular.
Book19, page 361
When speaking to the Owner, the kajir may use the phrase, "my Master"
to him, and him alone. The phrase is specifically reserved for use
with the Owning Master, and is considered an intimacy, as well as
being indicative of the desire of the kajira.
Book24, page 264
When greeting one's Owner for the first time in the day, usually in
the morning, the proper protocol is to perform a full and deep
obeisance, and then to say, "this kajira hopes to be pleasing to
you this day, my Master." There are variations on this theme, however
the core greeting always remains the same. For instance, the kajir
might say, if it is morning, "Good morning my Master, I hope to be
pleasing to you this day.", or "Greetings my Master, it is this
kajira's deepest desire to be found pleasing to you this day." Such
greetings are almost always certain to please the Master, and begin
the day on the proper footing.
Book22, page 165
Whenever approaching, or leaving the Owner's presence, in public (in
Gorean public, that is) or in private, the kajir should perform a
full obeisance to the Master, unless the Master indicates otherwise.
This is the affirmation and reaffirmation of the relationship between
Master and kajira, and demonstrates clearly to any who are watching
that the kajira is owned, fully.
Book13, page 198
As an aside note, be aware that the unbinding of a woman's hair is,
by the Gorean culture, the act of the one who owns her, the Master.
It is considered very sensuous, and enjoyable for both the Master to
perform, and the kajira who's hair is being unbound, and perhaps
also, brushed out.
How, and when, to perform a proper obeisance
Perhaps the single most complex maneuver for a kajir to fully
understand and properly employ at any given time, for any given
need, is the obeisance. There are a number of variations, and each
is suitable at different times, but rarely will the Master tell the
kajir precisely which one to use. In this, a great deal will be up
to the kajir to decide, in terms of how the maneuver is performed.
There are many ways to perform an obeisance, and just as many
variations on each type, for different circumstances and situations.
It is one of the ways that a kajira can demonstrate, beyond any
slightest shadow of a doubt, the depth of her devotion and love for
the Master.
There are two basic forms of obeisance which may be considered and
used as appropriate. First, the kneeling obeisance. The kneeling
obeisance is used when the Master is simply passing by, perhaps he
doesn't have the time to wait for the kajir to go to thier belly,
or perhaps it is simply a Master passing the kajira in a hallway. In
such circumstances, normally a kneeling obeisance is considered
both sufficient, and appropriate.
In the kneeling obeisance, the kajira drops to her knees and bends
forward at the waist, bringing head as close to the ground as is
feasible. The arms may be fully extended towards the Master, to
touch his feet, or if in a confined space such as a hallway, the
arms are held close to the kajira's body, with wrists crossed over
her breasts. Alternatively, the kajira could intertwine her fingers
behind her head, holding her arms out to the sides as she bows as
low as she can. The kajira's face should be very close to the
Master's feet, and if he is not moving, she will adjust if at all
possible to cover his feet with kisses.
The second form of obeisance is the belly obeisance. This is
considered to be a much deeper demonstration of submission to the
Master. In this, the kajira goes first her knees, and bends forward
just as she would in a kneeling obeisance, but this time she places
her hands on the floor to steady her position, and slides her knees
backwards until she is fully prone upon her belly. Next, she can
either wiggle forward to the Master's feet, or, if the distance was
gauged properly, her head should already be positioned within a few
inches of his feet. In the belly obeisance, there is no half-measure,
it is full, all-out display of abject submission to the Master, in
no uncertain terms. The kajira will begin by moving her hair over
the Master's foot, caressing it with the strands, and thereby
sensitizing it to the next step. Then, she uses her lips, and tongue,
licking and kissing the foot of the Master. To demonstrate sexual
desire as well, the kajira may also nibble or suck upon the foot. The
allowable range is from the toes, up as high as mid-calf, for the
kajira's attentions. Often a Master will permit a kajira to continue
at some length when doing this, so be prepared to do so. When the
Master signifies that the oral display is sufficient, either through
movement of the leg/foot, or by word, the kajira brings her head down
to the top of the foot, her mouth maintaining constant contact to
the Master while making this transition, and slowly turn her head to
rest her cheek against the top of his foot.
If the kajira has displeased the Master, or suspects that she has or
will do so, it is advisable to take the obeisance yet another step
forward. After resting the cheek against the top of the foot for only
a moment, the kajira may move her head sideways just far enough to
clear the Master's foot, lift it gently, slide her head back beneath
where the foot is, and bring the sole of the Master's foot to the
the upwards facing side of her head. This demonstrates further to
the Master that the kajira is placing herself utterly beneath his
his mercy, and his judgement.
A full obeisance varies depending on whether it is to just any
Master, or the Owning Master. To just any Master, lean forward and
put lips to the top of the foot, let your hair brush across it and
kiss three times, then lay your cheek to the top of the foot.
To the Owning Master, use both lips and tongue after caressing the
foot with your hair, demonstrate absolute devotion with that, and
display sexual need by what you do with your bottom - for instance,
if your tail is wagging in the air, that sends a message!
When does the kajir perform an obeisance? When commanded, of course,
but there will also be times when it is not commanded. Perhaps the
Master is not considering it, at such times the obeisance has the
greatest effect, and be the most pleasing. The first time that a
kajir goes before the Owner in a given day, always perform the full
obeisance. Also, before the kajir parts from the Owner for the rest
of the day, again, perform the full obeisance. When seeking the
Master's forgiveness, perform the most abject of obeisances that can
be concieved. When seeking especial favour, it is also appropriate.
Understand that the full obeisance can be a very intimate thing, and
very arousing. As with anything which can be done, if you have
formulated your own special twist to the obeisance, reserve that and
do not do it often. Let it be something that the Master will know
and recognize as carrying especial meaning. Anything which is done
too often, or overdone, loses it's specialness.
Compressing a serve
Often the Master does not have the leisure to wait while the kajir
works on a lengthy serve. In irc, this is frequently the case, the
Master has things going on, or simply does not have the time that
he would like to have, to devote to a single task or to being
on-line. In real life, this is not so much of a problem because in
real life, a serve is much faster than it is on-line. Therefore, the
kajir needs to find out if it is feasible to do so, how much time
the Master has available. If it is not much, then the serve needs
to be compressed.
Compressing a serve is done by paring it down to it's essentials.
Often you will see a kajir doing a simple serve of black wine that
takes upwards of 45 minutes to complete. In real life, you could have
ground the beans, made an entire pot of coffee, and served it, in a
maximum of 15 minutes time. If the coffee was already made, 5
minutes is more than sufficient.
When the compressed serve is performed on-line, there needs be only
two paragraphs in a really tight serve. One showing the getting up
to get the refreshement and the return before the Master, the second
one is the girl's litany, speaking to the Master. Done. At most, it
can be strung out to three paragraps, one going, one returning, and
the last, the litany to the Master.
On the same note, in ircGor, when the kajira is serving, the intent
of the serve is to interact with the Master. And for the Master to
interact with the kajira. This becomes difficult when the kajira
writes one paragraph of her leaving him to go to the servery, one
paragraph of her return, and then the litany of the serve itself,
but writes for 45 minutes to generate 10 paragraphs in the servery
of her detailed preparation of the food or drink. What's wrong with
that picture? Quite simply, the kajira appears to be off roleplaying
with the pots and pans! Do you honestly think that the Master will
care about every last detail of the preparation, other than perhaps
to use as a punishment?
The point here is this; focus on the Master at all times. Interact
with the Master, not with the pots and pans. That ratio shown above
should be reversed, on a highly detailed serve, 10 paragraphs of
interaction with the Master, and 3 in the servery. Compress the
parts which are not interacting with the Master, and expand the parts
which do.
What does the Gorean Master wants from the kajira?
This is very straightforward... the Gorean Master wants everything,
and more. It is not sufficient for a kajira to be merely a sex-toy,
the Master will take that just for starters, or as an aside. The
true Master is not satisfied unless he owns the kajira fully, mind
and body, heart and soul. He owns her, and will not accept anything
less than all of what he owns. The kajira's thoughts and emotions,
her talents and skills, her hopes and her dreams, and yes, even her
nightmares. All of her, belongs to her Master.
In the Gorean Way, in the total ownership of the kajira, the Master
also aquires certain responsibilities. Yes, she is his property, but
that will mean that he takes care of his property as best he can. The
kajira is *human* property, and humans have needs and requirements
which must be met in order for them to be at thier very best. In the
ownership of the kajira, the Master will foster those things which
are best in the kajira, and not tolerate those things which are
are harmful to her, or make her less than she should be. The Master
will be proud of his property, and will require that she be such that
he can take pride in her, and his training of her. After all, his
choice of the kajira is a direct reflection upon him, his tastes and
his abilities as a Master. If she is serving, others will look upon
her service and it's quality will reflect *directly* upon the Master.
Others will know by her behavior, her service, her demeanor, how
much effort the Master has put into the girl, and how good a Master
he is. Or is not.
On-line, in whatever venue of Gor you are in, it is not possible to
fully own the kajira, in all ways. For true Mastery, the relationship
must move to real life, sooner or later, where the Master can be a
true Master to the kajira, and the kajira, a true kajira. However,
on-line is not a bad place to start.
Why is bondage such a large factor if Gor is not about bondage?
Book17, page 206
In Gor, bondage is used to impress upon a woman her vulnerability, helplessness, and subjectiveness to the Master. To make fully manifest her slavery to him, in no uncertain terms. Also, of course,
for many, a woman is made even more beautiful and exciting when in
restraints, utterly subject to the Master's Will. This latter reason
is almost incidental, however. Gor is not about BDSM.
Book2, page 53
In fact, in Gor, sado-masochism is considered an aberration, a sickness, and it is almost never encountered. These things alone would vastly separate Gor from BDSM venues, but of course, there are other very telling differences to consider, as we have covered in earlier lectures.
Ritual and symbology are very important to the Gorean Way. One such
symbol is the collar of the kajir. It is the physical, manifest
icon of the kajir's nature and servitude, removing all question as
to the status of the kajir. It need not be a band of steel, it can
be something as simple as a velvet choker, in real life. The kajir
knows the reality behind it.... that a more substantial collar can
be placed on the neck at any moment, if the Master deems it either
necessary, or pleasing to him. This symbol of the kajir's bondage to
the Master is but the first of many, and one leads directly to the
next. Will the Master place cuffs on the kajir? Or perhaps the sirik,
the chains? A slender, attractive walking chain? Each thing that the
Master does adds not only a physical bond, but trains the kajira in
no uncertain terms that she is controlled, absolutely, by the Will of
the Master.
Often it will be noted that a newer kajir is far more heavily laden
with these symbols of servitude, than a more experienced kajir would
be. The reason is simple; the new kajira is still learning, perhaps
even still testing the limits of her imbondage to the Master. As such
it is a kindness to keep her confined within the space of these
sorts of physical symbols, so that she *can't* exceed them, and get
herself into trouble. Moreover, it trains her body, her reactions and
her reflexes, to operate within the boundaries set by the Master,
even as the symbols themselves help her to condition her mind to it's
fullest, deepest understanding of her circumstances, and her nature.
A more experienced kajira already knows these lessons, and usually
wears the physical symbols for the pleasure of doing so, as they are
a constant reminder that her Master not only cares enough set her
limits for her, but also takes both comfort, and even joy, in knowing
that she cannot be displeasing by inadvertantly exceeding those
limits. It permits her to relax fully, and find the freedom of the
chains.
And of course, many who come into Gor, do so from a BDSM venue, and
while Gor has it's own particular reasons for using the implements of
bondage, many enjoy the chains and whips and whatnot, for all of the
sexually charged pleasures they can bring. But understand clearly
this; those BDSM reasons are not the primary reasons in the Gorean
Way.
