MASCA THEATER
The MASCA Theater is the only gesture, pantomime, and body expression theater in Romania, created in 1990, subsidized by the Ministry of Culture.
AESTHETIC PROGRAM
In a new world of object, which does not find any more its equivalencies in the spoken language, the actor has to rediscover the transcendence of things, by finding again a language capable of a deep polysemantism, which, along with artistic endeavor will take back its place in the core of the theatrical imagine.
FOUNDER
MASCA Theater was founded by the director and the actor MIHAI MALAIMARE, who is now the manager of the company.
Mihai Malaimare graduated the University of Theater and Film - Bucharest (major - Dramatic Art, 1973; 2nd major - Directing, 1985).
Graduated of "Ecole de theatre Jacques Lecocq, Paris, 1981.
USIA Program in America, 1992.
Thesis in history and theory of theater "The Clown Keeper of the Theatricality".
THE COMPANY
10 professional actors, graduates of the University of Theater and Film in Bucharest and Targu Mures, and of the Ecological University - Bucharest. They are aged from 23 to 37 years old.
1 director, ANCA FLOREA graduate of the University of Theater and Film, specialty - Directing, 1984.
Thesis in history and theory of theater "The Language of the Gesture Theater".
3 technicians (sound and lighting)
The company is stable, 15 people on tours who can play all the repertory of the theater.
