Off Season Update

I know I haven't updated this since the next to last race of the 2007. That's what happens when someone forgets to buy Scooby Snacks, what can I say. Anyway just to make it official, Jim finished 2nd in the points chase for 2007 at Gordon Park Speedway.  They had the Awards dinner the end of November for everyone. There was good food, a bunch of good friends and competitors. The track gave out some really nice trophy's for the top 3 finishers in each class. First place winners recieved a Jacket with their accomplishment and the 2nd place finishers recieved a Jacket from Sunoco Race Fuels and all 3 places recieved a monetary award. There were door prizes and even some music for those who wanted to appear to be dancing. It appeared a good time was had by all.

Toward the end of the year there was an anoucment that I-20 Speedway in Batesburg had been sold and that it would be paved for 2008. The sale process is still in progress. Jim has talked to Bo Griffin, which is the main party involved and Bo really has a plan. Jim made an early discission to go ahead and make the change to asphault, but since the sale isn't complete yet, and there hasn't been any disicsion on what the rules will be, he has decided to stay on dirt and return to Gordon Park for the 2008 season. We had contemplated on building a completely new car for next but will put that off an spruce up our current car and try and build a new one throughout the year and have it ready for the 2009 season.

So with this being the real off season, Jim wanted to take this time and thank our supporters for a great 2007 season. They are::

Barbara Diamond owner of The Stamping Place and Scrapbook Station in West Columbia, SC.

Ladies this is the place to get all your scrapbooking and art stamping supplies to keep track of
your significant others racing history. They got it all. Go to my links page to go to her web site.

If you want it to go fast, this is the man that can don it. Many of us who have a Ford with Satterfield power say,
"powered by Ford, Perfected by Henry Satterfield", he's the man.

Jim's wife Judy. Plain and simple, without her by my side at home, this wouldn't work.

That's because every time she goes to the track, it's a rtain out!

To ALL my fellow competitors. Without this bunch of lunatics, we wouldn't be having all this fun in the first place.

Until our next update, Have a Scooby Doo Day and check back often.

Feb 6, 2008; Well we won't be racing asphault any time soon. the deal for I-20 to be sold and changed from dirt to asphault has fell through. So that means we'll be returning to Gordon Park Speedway when their gates open in April and see about bettering our 2007 results. We're also looking at a couple of Friday night tracks to visit and if we have enough funding at the end of the year, visit a couple other tracks in their end of year specials.
We presentally have the ole car torn down to it's frame and are slowly rebuilding the front end after the car's last on track episode. When the front's done there will be a little work to the back, lay  on a new body, some of that great looking Sherwin Williams paint, a little vinyl for the number and letters and it should be ready for another great year of fun and excitment.
As always, we are looking for some advertisers to help defray some of the costs we experiance through the year and if anyone is interested or knows someone who is might be, drop Jim and email with thier phone number and lets see what we can do.
In the meantime, I still love those Scooby Snacks.
