Welcome to the Fireground photos page, this page will be updated as fires happen on the North Shore. This update, we have some photos taken at a 3 alarm fire in downtown Beverly. Unfortunately I only had my digital camera on hand at the time so the resolution of these photos isn't quite as good as I'd like.
The incident: Engine 1 and 5, Ladder 1 and Car 2 responded to a report of a house fire on Railroad Ave. in downtown Beverly. Upon arrival crews attempted to make an interior attack against what seemed to be a fire electrical in origin. When trying to attack the the seat of the fire four Beverly firefighters were blown back and down the stairs by a backdraft which blew out the back porch and front wall of the house. Crews evacuated and went into a defensive mode. All occupants made it out of the house safely prior to the F.D.'S arrival. Beverly Engine 3 responded for the working fire, and the subsequent second and third alarms brought Peabody Engine 1, Hamilton Engine 503, Danvers Engine 3, Lynn Engine 9 and Wenham Ladder 405 to the scene to aid Beverly firefighters in the defensive attack. In the end, th house was a complete lose suffering from critical structural damage. No firefighters or civilians were injured.
