• Boston College HS
- The pueri at BCHigh said that the Statee Convention "cool....and fun" and they
would enjoy coming against next year!

Boston Latin Academy
- In April, 6 students took the Medusa Myyth Exam...The Classics Club at BLA is
very proud of the members of their scrapbook committee who put numerous hours
into their scrapbook. The Classics Club would like to honor and thank our own
Zara-Marie Spooner, MJCL President, for hosting and organizing a 2-day State
Convention.

Chelmsford HS
- The Latin Club will start up anew in Seeptember. There has been no club there
for the last 18 years. They have joined MJCL now so that they can be in on JCL
activities as soon as school starts. A big MJCL welcome goes out to them!

Boston Latin School
- BLS continued advertising their Latin CCllub in the school, throughout the
school year, and the number of people in the club has tripled since the club
started.
•
Brookline HS
- The Latin Club also continued to view RRoman-related movies after they had
showcased the movie, Gladiator. A few of the Brookline JCLers have plans
for fundraising this coming spring season and for the upcoming school year.

Tewksbury HS
- As of this spring a few additional fresshman have joined the Tewksbury Latin
Club.

Lynn English HS
- The Classics Club at Lynn English held a Roman Banquet. The certamen teams
continued practicing after school up until finals at States. The LEH JCLers
would like to give a big hello to Ms. Burnot's husband and her 2-year old son
who was the youngest delegate at the convention.

Pierce MS
- A bake sale was held this past March. EEveryone said it was delicious!
•
Turkey Hill MS
- According to JCLers who attended Statess,, the Latin Club at Turkey Hill is
being slowly but surely organized. The students enjoyed themselves at States and
had fun during the two-day convention.

Wakefield HS
- The Latin Club at Wakefield HS had a &qquot;fantastic" time at the State Convention.
The graduating seniors of the club were continuing to add additional members to
the Latin Club.

Mount Greylock Regional HS
- On May 23, the annual Parentalia was heeld with over 350 people attending. At
this event, awards from the NLE, the State Convention, and other national
contests, were presented. Entertainment included dramatic interpretations.

Boston Latin Academy
- This year, the members of the BLA-JCL sstarted having weekly meetings run by
their elected officers. The club is also planning a "Parent-Potluck" to show
parents what JCL is all about. Plans are underway for BLA's annual scrimmage in
late-January as well as community service and community outreach activities. On
November 16th, about 35 members of the BLA-JCL attended the Catapult Contest.
Everyone had fun; of course a certain President had a lot more fun than most.

Brattleboro Union High School
- Brattleboro Union High School is MassJCCL's first out-of-state chapter from
Vermont. Although their club is just getting started, the 30 Latin Club members
already have a board of 4 elected officers with monthly meetings. Brattleboro
Union High School attended Classics Day on October 22nd and liked it very much.
Future plans include fund-raising and a tutoring program for Latin students.

Milton High School
- Milton High School is hoping to start uup a certamen team for competition in
the upcoming scrimmages and hopefully at the Certamen Prelims in April. Plans
are also underway for publishing a chapter newsletter. Milton High is also
planning on attending the State Convention on May 16th and 17th at UMass
Amherst.

Mount Greylock Regional High
School - The Latin Club at
Mt. Greylock started off the year with their annual raffle. In October, the club
set up booths at Williamstown Elementary School's "Words are Wonderful" fair to
advertise taking Latin to the students. The club also held its annual induction
ceremony on November 7. On November 16, the club hosted the MassJCL Catapult
Contest.

Tewksbury High School
- Tewksbury High School JCL upperclassmenn have been busy recruiting new freshman
for MJCL. The sophomores were busy constructing a catapult and transporting it
to the Catapult Contest, where they had a wonderful time. Future activities
include participating in a gift-giving program for the needy during the holiday
season and the sale of hot cocoa during the morning to students in the school as
a fundraiser.

Wakefield High School
- Wakefield High school's Latin
Club presented its annual "Mr. WHS," a mock beauty pageant for the junior and
senior class guys. it took place on Sunday, December 7.
