The
truth is:
Bruce
Lee was not a Karate man. He wasn't a Tae Kwon Do man either!!
Bruce
Lee was a student of Wing Chun Kung Fu.
Now
you can be too!!!
Wing
Chun Kung Fu
The
missing piece of the Bruce Lee puzzle!!
There are many people attempting to learn "Bruce Lee's fighting methods. Schools everywhere try to emulate the process Bruce Lee used to become one of the greatest Martial Artist to ever live. Unfortunately, most of these schools fail miserably in their attempts. The reason for this failure is the missing piece of the Bruce Lee puzzle.
To
understand Bruce Lee's fighting method you must first start with the
same foundation Bruce Lee had. That foundation was the Wing Chun
system taught to him by his only teacher, Grandmaster Ip Man.
Everything Bruce Lee developed, he developed from the understanding
and fighting principles of Wing Chun. Bruce Lee's top student,
Dan Inosanto, in his book "Jeet Kuen Do - the art and
philosophy of Bruce Lee" calls Wing Chun the "Nucleus"
of Jeet Kuen Do. Unfortunately, many modern day followers of JKD
ignore the importance of Wing Chun and miss the intended target of
understanding the secret of Bruce Lees phenomenal skills. It is truly
amazing what Bruce Lee was able to accomplish when you consider that
his education in the Martial Arts was limited to only a few years of
training with Ip Man, and that he had only scratched the surface of
what Wing Chun Kung Fu has to offer.
Wing
Chun Kung Fu Grandmaster Ip (Yip) Man was the teacher
of the
legendary "King of Kung Fu" BRUCE LEE.
After
more than two decades of teaching in Hong Kong, Grandmaster Ip Man
passed away at the age of 72 on December 2, 1972. His small Kung Fu
Association grew and gave birth to thousands of Wing Chun
practitioners around the world. Ip Man's son, Ip Ching, reflecting
back to the early years in Hong Kong, stated that his father never in
his wildest dreams thought that Wing Chun would become so popular
with followers around the world.
Thanks to the efforts of Ip Man, and the fame brought to Wing Chun by it's most famous student, Bruce Lee, the system is practiced in all major countries in the world, however qualified instruction in the full authentic system is still very hard to find. The highly relevant techniques to personal defense and the short learning curve make Wing Chun a very popular art to study. Wing Chun is also an art that allows for the greatest amount of personal adaptation. Allowing the many parts of art to fit the person rather than having the person fit the entire art.
In
the United States the Ip Man system of Wing Chun is overseen by the
Traditional Ip Man Wing Chun Association, Headed by Grandmaster Ip
Ching and his Disciple, Master Samuel Kwok. Master Kwok's
student, Sifu Tony Massengill represents that association in the
United States.

The most pure lineage in Wing Chun. Grandmaster Ip Man (Bruce Lee's teacher), to his sons
Grandmasters Ip Chun & Ip Ching, to their student, Master Samuel Kwok
