MASCL RULES!!!!!!!! Started at 1pm

1. Attendance: Matt, Ryan, Russell, Tiffany, Soren, Janet, Nathaniel, Kevin FU (Fuzai was here!), Jeff, Lisa ( Speakerphone- Technology these days), Mark, Viet, and Amanda.

Jeff's quote on the speakerphone: " This is like Charlie's Angels"

2. Treasurer's Report: Tiffany started the session with Mark talking about our MASCL budget.

Mark: " Yes we have $$$$$$$$$$" $- Undisclosed due to security issues =)

Tiffany: Sterling Darling says he gave back the gavel, but he probably still has it for law school.!

Mark would be taking receipts from all who went to Nationals this past summer.

3. Nationals Recap:

Russell said Amanda did a great and wonderful job at Nationals for That's Entertainment! Great Job for Amanda!

Lisa told us about the brand new friscus sport at Nationals so that people won't get hurt.

Great News from Janet: MJCL Lower Level Certamen team won 2nd place at the Certamen Finals at Texas.

The states who came to Natls with a lot of people are : MA, IND, FLA, and ND

4. Janet's Corner:
Certamen Questions are DUE on 12/15/03 or early if possible to Janet Fillion!

TEST Questions for academic test competitions are due on 3/01/03 or early if possible to Tamara Bauer!

Classics Day at BU on 12/1/03 early morning to lunch. Due to Ruck's history with the topic of myth, Janet wants to avoid having him talking about phallus and entheogen type material
   - Janet to Viet: Great job on helping MJCL getting SEVEN professors from BU!! GOOD!!!

Catapult Competition at Belchertown, MA on 11/8/03

MassJCL Convention at UMASS Amherst on April 30th- May 1st 2003. Please remember it's three weeks early this year!

5. Tech Stuff:
Anyone who wants to purchase That's Entertainment tape, email Kevin. Please give him postage and required materials needed so he can send you the tape.

Upper: 24 Langauage, 12 Myth, 12 History/Life, 12 Literature
*Each question will have 2 boni

7. Amanda's Social Update:

We will be seeing Troy starring Brad Pitt...

We need to get some active involvement with Jclers and we will discuss more soon

Also, RISCL established constitution. Great Job Amanda. RISCL is composed of Providence College, Brown, JWU. Let's have a joint SNECL meeting soon?

8. MASCL Convention Update:
There might be plans to have That's Entertainment to replace the Coffee House and Dance ( work in progress or still under discussion). Nathan's suggestion on having That’s Entertainment implemented...Registration of That’s Entertainment before convention starts....trading off dances and etc.

Next MJCL EBoard Meeting on Saturday,11/15/03 at Amherst, MA 2-4 PM

9. Janet:
On a sad note, this past summer we lost one of the great latin teachers that had a tremendous influence at NJCL/NSCL. Our condolences to to the family of Amy High who has inspired people with her conversational Latin. We will miss you for your impact at Nationals.

Also, for Paula Smith at Wakefield, We want to wish you well on the days ahead. Stay Strong and Thanks for having a great impact at Nationals.
