Słupsk

A majestic castle started by Prince Wacisław VII around the year 1392. It was reconstructed by Prince Bogusław X in 1507, its northern wall making part of the city fortification line. By the end of the 16th century it was remodeled in the Renaissance style by Italian architects for Prince Jan Fryderyk. Partly destroyed in the 19th century. It regained its 16th century appearance in the years 1959-1965. Now it houses a Museum of Middle Pomerania. Worth seeing is the collection of portraits by Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz.
