My husband and I had been living in a very small apartment and decided to try to find a house. I went searching one day when I wasn't working and came across a real cute 2 bedroom house that was well within our price range. We rented the house the same day.

About 2 or 3 months later, some strange things started happening. At first we thought that the things were just being misplaced. The very first thing that happened at first I thought was a case of forgetfulness, but looking back at it all, I realize it was the start.

My husband and I had just gotten back from the grocery store and put all of the item we bought away, including a bottle of mustard. About five minutes later, he decided to go and make himself a sandwich. He opened the fridge and the mustard was gone!! We looked all over the house and the car to make sure we hadn't dropped it in the trunk. I told Paul (my husband) that I was sure I had put it in the fridge. We couldn't figure it out.

A friend of ours moved in with us soon after this happened. We were always misplacing our keys, or other things in this house. I didn't think much about this because I had just gotten a new job when we moved in and things were hectic.

One day Paul, E.J. (our friend that moved in) and I were sitting in the living room throwing toys for the dog. I threw the toy down the hall. It bounced once, and as I waited for it to bounce again, it never did. My dog Jake stood in the hall looking up at the ceiling like "Where is it?" I asked him to find it, but it wasn't there. We looked up and down the hall,in the bathroom at the end of the hall, in the dining room next to the living room, and I even picked up the chair I had been sitting in to see if it had accidentally went under it. The toy was nowhere to be found.

I sat back down in the chair and said, "Sorry, Jake. I guess it's gone."At the very same moment, I heard a thump on the opposite side of the chair that I had thrown the toy. I looked over to see what it was, and there was the toy! I knew good and well I had thrown it down the hall. I had even heard the thud as it bounced once. I couldn't see the toy because the hall light wasn't on, but I KNEW I threw it.

It was then I started putting together some of the little things that had been going on in the house for a while. The first bedroom door was always being found either open or closed (and always the OPPOSITE of the way you left it), things you just knew you had laid down in one place were either missing for a while or found in a different place, and the light in our carport was always on when we never turned it on. These things were in addition to finding things in the house that you had never seen before.

Up to this point, the things that had happened to us were all sort of funny and irritating, sort of like when a kid is playing a joke on you. E.J. started to get involved with the weird goings-on also. He stayed in the first bedroom, and would shut his door, only to come back to find it open. He was always asking if we opened his door. And always the answer was no. One day he got really irritated when he had bought a brand new tape measure. He laid it down on the coffee table in the living room and when he went back to get it, it was gone. He got really upset and asked us what we did with it. I told him I had seen it on the table. We looked everywhere but just couldn't find it. He had paid $40 for it and was really upset. I guess he thought we took it, but it was gone!! Not long after that, he got fed up with it all and moved out.

My friend Amantha came to visit one day, and I was showing her the first bedroom. I was explaining to her how I thought all the activity was centered around this area and the hall. We were talking about the eerie feeling you got when you entered the room, and how it felt like cob webs were on your face. Right after that her son started acting up, and she had to give him a spanking. After that, THINGS IN THE HOUSE STARTED TO GET REALLY BAD!!!

One night I got up to go to the bathroom, and I turned to turn the bedroom light on and the bathroom light off, when I heard footsteps running down the hall towards me. I turned to see who it was, and no one was there. The sound stopped about a foot in front of me, and I backed into the wall. From behind me, came the sound of a child laughing. I jumped in bed with my husband, and didn't get up until morning.

About three nights later, my husband was going to get up to go to the bathroom, when two hands shoved him in the back. He turned to yell at me because he thought it was me, and found I was sound asleep.

About this time, my husband got switched to nights at work. I was afraid to stay at home alone, because of all that had been going on. There was many nights, that I called 911, thinking someone was trying to get in, because my dogs, were running up and down the hall barking at the ceiling.

I started staying at my friend Amantha's house, because I was afraid to stay by myself. One night, we came to the house to pick up some medicine for me. I had to go into the first bedroom, because I couldn't find it. She went in with me. It felt like someone's hand was caressing your scalp. She got freaked out and yelled, "I'm leaving, hurry up!!". I yelled, "Please don't leave me!". I grabbed my medicine and slammed the first bedroom door shut. There was a banging behind me, and so I turned to see what it was, and the bedroom door was rattling in its frame like someone was shaking the handle, trying to get out. I got the HELL out of there!

My husband and I decided to move. We came home one day to pack some things I walked in the front door, and the TV turned on by itself. It started flipping through the channels, and got stuck on the Christian channel. Then the lights started blinking on and off.

Also, later on that week, when I was packing, I went to a storage closet in our carport, and opened it up. About 10 to 12 pennies appeared in the air and fell on my head.

As we were moving stuff out of the house, we started noticing candy wrappers though out the house, especially in the first bedroom. These were candies that we didn't eat. We also found several belts that weren't my husbands size (or E.J.'s).

We believe that there were two ghosts in the house, that of a child about 4 or 5 years old, and grown man. We believe that the child was beaten to death. We think the occurrences that were funny were the child, and more serious were caused by the man. We have never found out any history on the house. We know the couple that moved in after us, decided to buy the house and moved out about 3 months after their baby was born.

P.S. E. J. and Ginger (his wife), and Paul and I are now very close friends. We explained what happened after he moved out and he understood. We are now all happily married, in un-haunted houses, with two beautiful baby boys!
