I was 16 years old when I had my first encounters with a ghost. I woke up one night on a weekend because I was thirsty and my throat would hurt when I tried to swallow, so I decided to go downstairs and get some water. Well, I got my water and ran back up stairs to go back to sleep. But when I walked into my room, I realized it had suddenly gotten cold! This was strange because it was winter and we had our heater on and my ceiling fan wasn't even on.
So I decided to use the bathroom before I went straight to bed. When I came back to my bedroom I laid down and moved on my side. I closed my eyes for a minute when I opened them, I saw a face looking straight at me. It was a little girl! I thought my sister had come into my bedroom like she usually does at night to sleep for fear of the dark. But when I reached to pat her head my hands went right through her! I blinked over and over again and tried to pat her head and I screamed," Jennifer!"
My dad came running into my room with a scared but also annoyed expression on his face. He said," What's wrong with you!" After he said that my sister walked next to him rubbing her eyes. I couldn't believe it! I just saw her and now she was coming from a totally different room. I said," What were you doing in my room, Jennifer?" She replied," What! I was sleeping in my room until you screamed! So why did you call me?" I replied," You were just ere! I saw you and tried to pat your head but my hands went right through you!"
My dad scolded me and told me to go back to sleep and my sister followed him out of my room giving me a dirty look. I thought that maybe I was just seeing this but when all the lights were out and I turned again to my side to see if the little girl would turn up again, she wasn't there. Then I decided to sleep on my back and when I laid there with my eyes shut I heard, the fortune plants near my window moving briskly. I opened my eyes and right above me was the same little girl and she was floating above me smiling. I froze in horror and prayed the rosary over and over again in my head and when I opened my eyes again she was still there. In my head I asked what she wanted and in some whisper I heard her say, " What's your name?" I spoke out loud by saying," Frances" She smiled, closed her eyes, and somehow vanished. The coldness in my room went away.
In a dream I saw her again in a little blue dress and we were sitting
on a porch talking. But all I can remember now is that it was a different time and she was 8 years old, which is a year younger than my sister Jennifer. From then on, I would only see her in dreams but I never saw her in person.
