Applications:

This version on AISI 304 has extra low carbon. This aids in the restriction of carbide precipitation during welding.

Notes:

Heat Treatment - To anneal, heat material to 1850 - 2050 deg F and then cool rapidly. This grade can not be hardened by thermal treatment.

Welding - This grade is very well suited for welding using AISI 308 filler material. Annealing after welding is not required to retain corrosion resistance.

Heat Resistance - This material resists oxidation if used intermittently up to 1600 deg F, or if used continuously up to 1700 deg F. This material can be used continuously between 800 - 1575 deg F.

This is a Austenitic stainless steel.
