This low carbon modification of AISI 317 is designed for simular applications as used by AISI 317 but without the carbide precipitation during welding.
Welding - Normal welding technics can be used to weld this material. Recommended filler material is AISI 317L or AISI 309Cb. This material does not require annealing after welding.
Heat Treatment - Heat to 1850 - 2050 deg F and cool rapidly to anneal. This material can not be hardened by using thermal processes.
Heat Resistance - Provides good oxidation resistance if intermittent heated to 166 deg F or if it is continuously used up to 1700 deg F. This material can be use in the range of 800 - 1575 deg F.
This is a Austenitic stainless steel.
