Applications:

Piping, tubing, and other equipment for radioactive systems.

Notes:

General - Demonstrates simular properties as AISI 321 but with low retentivity.

Heat Treatment - To anneal, heat to 1850 - 2050oF and cool rapidly. This will permit maximum corrosion resistance.

Welding - When using AISI type 347 or 348 filler rod, this material exhibits good welding charateristics. Suited for all standard welding methods. There is no need to anneal after welding.

Heat Resistance - This material is best suited for service between 800 and 1600oF but can be used satifactory to 1700oF if exposed to these temperatures continuously.

This is a Austenitic stainless steel.
