"I'm putting my life on the line battling the undead. Look, I broke a nail, okay? I'm wearing a press on." -Buffy

One girl in all the world can stop the vampires and the demons from taking over the world and making it their own. That girl is Buffy Summers.

Buffy Summers, daughter of Joyce and Hank Summers was your average California girl. Popular, pretty, shallow (think Spordelia), and a slight ditz. That is until she turned fifteen and learned of her sacred destiny. A destiny Buffy did not care for, but finally came to accept. Buffy than started slaying vampires and demons in L.A. until she got expelled for burning down the school's gym, which had vampires in it. Her parents split up, and her mother took Buffy and herself to Sunnydale a.k.a the Hellmouth.

Sunnydale was her fresh start to get away from her past, although destiny proved to be a tricky thing to leave behind. Demonic trouble seemed to follow Buffy. And so once again Buffy accepted her sacred duty.

In Sunnydale Buffy met and befriended Willow, Xander, who became a close knit family as the season wore on. She met her new watcher, Rupert Giles, who became a father figure to her.

Over the seasons Buffy developed a relationship with a souled vampire, Angel. The two finally started dating in season two. Their relationship blossomed despite obstacles that were thrown at them. On Buffy's seventeenth Buffy and Angel made love for the first time. And although their night together was magical, Angel acheived true happiness and reverted back to his soulless self, Angelus was back in town (and man does he look good in leather).

In the end of season two, her secret identity was revealed to her mother causing her to be kicked out of her house, expelled from school, and sent Angel to hell after Angelus had tried to raise Acathala. Not able to deal with everything she fled Sunnydale and hid out in Los Angeles under the identity of Anne, where she worked at a small diner.

When Buffy finally returned she delt with a whole new set of troubles. Her friends not welcoming her back with open arms. Angel returned from Hell, and Faith a troubled slayer swept into town. Faith eventually turned to the dark side. Buffy and Angel got back together, but Angel broke up with her right before her prom to give her a better life. He was than posioned and the only way to save his life was through a slayer's blood. Buffy, unable to kill Faith but putting her in a coma, forced Angel to drink from her. The Mayor planning on ascending (into a giant snake) on graduation day, a weak Buffy along with the scooby gang and Sunnydale student body managed to defeat the mayor. Angel left town like promised.

Once again Buffy struggled through her first year at college, trying to lead as normal a life as possible. She was used by a boy named Parker and became much more catious with whom she opened her heart to. Her and a graduate student named Riley started dating. Although their relationship was troubled, Riley too being in the demon business, working for the government.

The season came to end, with the scooby gang coming together to fight the big evil, Adam, a concoction made by the military. He consisted of demon, machine, and man.

Riley and Buffy broke up in season five, the reality of their relationship and who they were hitting hard. Riley left for the jungle.

Joyce was diagnosed with brain cancer. Joyce underwent surgery, and her tumor had succesfully been removed. Joyce was to expect a complete recovery. But like all things in Sunnydale, you should always expect the unexpected. Joyce died of an aneurysm.

Glory, Buffy's newest oponent, and strongest so far came into town. Glory wanted her "Key" which came in the form of a fifteen-year old girl named Dawn- Buffy's younger sister. The monks had hid the key and sent it somewhere it'd be safe and protected. Glory turned out not to be a demon, but a God. By the end of the season she had finally managed to find the key and capture it. Dawn was the portal to her old dimension, and the only way to close the portals was the blood of the key. Or Buffy's. Buffy jumped into the portal saving the world again. Her friends gave her a private funeral.

But could not let her rest in peace, and soon made plans to bring her back. Her friends had expelled Buffy from Heaven, leaving her to live her own private hell. She began her decent into this by digging out of her own grave. She keeps her secret from her friends until the truth comes out in "Once More With Feeling".

Buffy is devoid of emotion and feelings, and as the season goes on starts a relationship with her ex-nemesis, Spike a.k.a William the Bloody.

The whole year Buffy is terrorized by the Troika (Andrew, Warren, and Jonathon). Who threw lame, countless, and annoying attacks on Buffy threw the season. Warren later came to Buffy's house with a gun, shooting Buffy and killing Tara, which cause Willow to turn evil and seek revenge.
