Meet You In San Francisco

We got back yesterday (June 18) from our trip to San Francisco.  It was really tiring, considering the fact that I didn't even drive.  Riz did all the driving.  We arrived in San Francisco at 2:30 p.m.  Our first stop was at Riz's godchild's birthday party.

At exactly 7:00 p.m. we left the party to go to Liby's house.  Lex, Tess and the kids were already there when we arrived.  Liby prepared a lot of delicious food for us.  We were joined by the Pastor at Liby's church, his wife and a couple of other friends.  Unfortunately, Ernie had a video coverage that night, so we didn't get to see him .  The kids had a feast because Liby bought them some treats.  They watched some video tapes together and played around a little bit.   At around 8:30, Liby went with me together with Denise to Wellex Inn to reserve a room for the night.  We decided not to stay at my friend's house, because her sisters and some other relatives are staying with them for the night.  After checking in at the hotel, we went back to Liby's house and continued our "kuwentuhan."

Tess was not feeling good that night because she was suffering from allergy.  Liby offered to turn on the vaporizer to help Tess feel better.  It kind of help a little bit.  Liby and Ernie are currently house hunting, because the house that they're living in right now has been sold to a developer.  Please wish her luck in finding a house.  We left at around 10:30.

Liby invited us to come back the next morning for breakfast.  Riz and I promised to come back so we can also see Ernie.  Liby prepared a very delicious breakfast for us.  We chatted with Ernie and Liby over fried rice, fried egg, bacon and Krispy Cream donuts.  We left at 9:30 for L.A.  Lex and Tess are supposed to meet them at an 11:00 church service.  Tess will be giving you the details on this as soon as she comes back from their week-long trip.  I miss them already, wala kasi akong makausap the whole week.  The pictures are yet to be developed so please be patient.    Regards to you all and take care always.

We came home from our five-day trip to San Francisco last Thursday, a few minutes before 12:00 midnight.  Thank God, we arrived to and from San Francisco safe and sound.  It was a seven to eight-hour drive from San Dimas with just one stop to get gas and food, go to the restroom, etc.  The kids were pretty good on both trips.  I did almost all the talking in the car to keep our driver (Lex) awake on the road.

We spent our first day in Union City with Liby who treated us with a well-prepared dinner.  We were joined by Riz, Dana, and kids and two family friends of Liby’s.  Liby let me use her vaporizer to ease my discomfort due to allergy/sinusitis.  She invited us to have breakfast with them the following morning but we didn’t make it.  Instead, we joined her and Ernie in their Sunday worship at the Family Church of Praise (Assemblies of God).  Liby would surely touch your heart when you hear her sing a song to the Lord.  It was a joy and a blessing to experience God in a
special way.

We stayed in Union City in a relative’s house for two days.  Actually, we’re not related by blood but we do treat each other like one.  The entire family was really nice to us and they made our stay with them very comfortable.  The kids got to play in the park and spent a couple of hours in the swimming pool.  One more good thing that happened there was we had a get-together with some of our neighbors in Caloocan.  It feels great to see some old familiar faces and know how they are doing now.

It was Tuesday when we finally went to Golden Gate Bridge, Firsherman’s Wharf, Pier 39, etc. in Lombard. Also, we went to Golden Gate Park where we saw all kinds of fish at the Steinhart Aquarium.  The kids enjoyed our vacation as much as Lex and I did.  San Francisco is a great place to visit, but I would say that everything there is expensive – hotel, food, parking, etc.  (may pagka-kuripot kasi ako eh!).

With love ..... Lex and Tess
