THE HOLE

Her mother worked for days making her a new school dress.  Finally, it was finished and ready to be worn.  Giggling with excitement, she asked if she could wear it the next day.  "Yes," was the answer, "but stay off the sliding board during playtime.  You already have torn one dress.  Let's keep this one nice."

However, the next day's playtime proved too tempting.  And despite her mother's instruction, she climbed to the top of the slide and began a fast descent.  It was then she heard a loud, tearing noise.  Later that evening, tears filled her mother's eyes as she studied the gaping hole in her daughter's dress.  "Mom, I'm sorry.  I didn't mean to do it."

Her mother thought for a moment, smiled, and then said, "I forgive you.  It'll take some effort, but I believe it can be fixed." Her daughter expected punishment but received grace instead.  The next evening, she noticed the dress, mended and hanging in her closet.  An attached note read: "Honey, I love you-Mom."

----------

Maybe you've torn a gaping hole in your life, and you think nothing can mend it.  God loves you.  And He will do for you what you can't do for yourself.  He has attached His note of love to your heart through the death of His Son.  Listen, you'll hear His voice. "My child, I love you.  Come to Me and I will forgive and mend your life and make you whole again." Remember, "Before the foundation of the world, God chose to love you."

Memo from God

I am God. Today I will be handling all of your problems.
Please remember that I do not need your help.  If life
happens to deliver a situation to you that you cannot
handle, do not attempt to resolve it. Kindly put it in
the SFGTD (Something for God to do) box.  It will be
addressed in My time, not yours.  Once the matter is
placed into the box, do not hold on to it.

If you find yourself stuck in traffic; Don't despair.
There are people in this world for whom driving is an
unheard of privilege.

Should you have a bad day at work;  Think of the man who
has been out of work for years.

Should you despair over a relationship gone bad;  Think
of the person who has never known what it's like to love
and be loved in return.

Should you grieve the passing of another weekend;  Think
of the woman in dire straits, working twelve hours a day
seven days a week to feed her children.

Should your car break down, leaving you miles away from
assistance; Think of the paraplegic who would love the
opportunity to take that walk.

Should you notice a new gray hair in the mirror;  Think
of the cancer patient in chemo who wishes she had hair
to  examine.

Should you find yourself at a loss and pondering what is
life all about, asking what is my purpose?  Be
thankful.  There are those who didn't live long enough
to get the opportunity.

Should you find yourself the victim of other people's
bitterness, ignorance, smallness or insecurities;
Remember, things could be worse.  You could be them!!!!

THIS ONE IS FABULOUS!!!  It was written by an 8 year old, Danny Dutton of Chula Vista, CA, for his third grade homework assignment. The assignment was to explain God.  Wonder if any
of us could do as well???

EXPLAIN GOD

One of God's main jobs is making people.  He  makes them to replace the ones that die, so there will be enough people to take care of things on earth. He doesn't make grown-ups,  just babies.  I think because they are smaller and easier to make.  That way He doesn't have to take up His valuable time teaching them to talk and walk. He can just leave that to mothers and fathers."

God's second most important job is listening to prayers.  An awful lot of this goes on, since some people, like preachers and things, pray at times beside bedtime.  God doesn't have time to listen to  the radio or TV because of this.  Because He  hears everything, there   must be a terrible lot of noise in His ears,
unless He has thought of  a way to turn it off."

God sees everything and hears everything and is everywhere which  keeps Him pretty busy.  So you shouldn't go wasting His time by going over your Mom and Dad's head asking for something they said you couldn't have."

Atheists are people who don't believe in God.  I don't think there are any in Chula Vista.  At least there aren't any who come to our church."

"Jesus is God's Son.  He used to do all the hard work like walking on water and performing miracles and trying to teach the people who didn't want to learn about God.  They finally got tired of Him preaching to them and they crucified Him.  But He was good and kind, like His Father and He told His Father that they didn't know
what they were doing and to forgive them and God said "O.K."

His Dad (God) appreciated everything that He  had done and all His hard  work on earth so He told Him He didn't have to  go out on the road  anymore. He could stay in heaven.  So He did.  And now He helps His Dad  out by listening to prayers and seeing things  which are important for  God to take care of and which ones He can take care of Himself without  having to bother God.  Like a secretary, only more important."

"You can pray anytime you want and they are sure to help you because they got it worked out so one of them is on duty all the time."

"You should always go to church on Sunday because it makes God happy, and if there's anybody you want to make happy, it's God.  Don't skip church to do something you think will be more  fun like going to the beach. This is wrong. And besides the sun doesn't come out at the beach until noon anyway."

If you don't believe in God, besides being an atheist, you will be very lonely, because your parents can't go everywhere with you, like to camp, but God can.  It is good to know He's around you when you're scared in the dark or when you can't swim and you get thrown into real deep water by big kids."

But...you shouldn't just always think of what God can do for you. I figure God put me here and He can take me back anytime He pleases.

And...that's why I believe in God.

Exercise Humours

My grandmother started walking five miles a day when she was 60.  She's 97 now & we don't know where the hell she is.

The only reason I would take up jogging is so that I could hear heavy breathing again.

I joined a health club last year, spent about 400 bucks. Haven't
lost a pound.  Apparently you have to show up.

I have to exercise in the morning before my brain figures out what I'm doing.

I don't exercise at all. If God meant us to touch our toes, he
would have put them further up our body.

I like long walks, especially when they are taken by people who annoy me.

I have flabby thighs, but fortunately my stomach covers them.

The advantage of exercising every day is that you die healthier.

If you are going to try cross-country skiing, start with a small country.

I don't jog. It makes the ice jump right out of my glass...
