CENTERS: A GREAT OPPORTUNTIY FOR STUDENTS AND TEACHERS!

This workshop will be a lifesaver for all K-5 teachers! When can you meet with guided reading groups, have students involved in activities that incorporate the multiple intelligences, have students make some neat crafts and get those assessments done?... AT CENTER TIME! It is a fun time for both the students and yourself and is not as difficult as you may think. We will help you design schedules, organize your room, and come up with activities for various centers.

FOOD AND NUTRITION MATH

Are you hungry for some great Math games and activities to use with your K-3 students? Then join us as we share ideas that are designed to facilitate your students' understanding of Math concepts through games, activities, poetry, literature and music. MATH AND / OR LANGUAGE ARTS MAKE AND TAKE

We will teach you hands on games and activities to spice up your Math and Language Arts programs at the K-8 level. We will include center ideas, shared reading tools, songs and poems for both Math and Language Arts lessons and games to reinforce skills. After we present our ideas, we will give you the time to make what you have seen, so that you can take it back to your classroom to use the very next day!

MATH WITH EVERYDAY MATERIALS

How can you teach math with cereal, pasta, and soda bottles? This workshop will provide teachers with ideas on how to use materials in school or at home to teach mathematical concepts. These ideas will incorporate the multiple intelligences and be able to be extended to a variety of ability levels.

MIND MOVERS AND SHAKERS

This is an interactive, invigorating and practical workshop. We will demonstrate ways in which to incorporate all of the intelligences and modalities in a differentiated classroom. It will be through the use of literature, poetry, music, activities and games that you will further develop your teaching strategies. As we explore various strategies, you will have the opportunity to modify and adjust them to meet your needs and the needs of your students.

NEW (AND NOT SO NEW) TEACHER ROOM SET-UP AND MANAGEMENT IDEAS

Overwhelmed with where to start with that room? Need to spice up that same old classroom? Have we got some ideas for you! From morning meeting areas to word wall ideas, from book organizing to storage suggestions... We can help you. We will give you ideas for management of students' behavior, management of centers, and management of those in - between times when some students have finished their work.

PARENT POWER: TOOLS, TRICKS AND TECHNIQUES TO GET PARENTS INVOLVED

Start off your year with a positive spin by involving parents. This K-5 workshop will be helpful as you prepare for "Back to School Night." We will show you ways to involve the students' parents both at home and in the classroom in meaningful ways that will save you time, energy and money. We will share ideas for class parties, Writers' / Readers' Workshops, centers and other classroom times.
